Caressing Nostalgia (Classical Contemporary) is a new Cambodian dance piece that pushes the boundaries of tradition by transforming classical gestures and movements. It depicts an artist’s sentimental yearning for a treasured past. Original music is composed by Alexis Alrich and performed by Samsun van Loon. It premiered at the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Fesitval at the Novellus Theatre/YBCA in 2011.
Charya restaged Villeer Chruas Knear (Intersections Through Time) specially for the 32nd Annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. The piece explores Charya's tranformation from the isolation she felt for her art when she first arrived in the United States to the newfound artistic possibilities upon which she now embarks. Intersections Through Time embodies the classical form by using the traditional dance vocabulary, yet it focuses on themes reflecting Charya's personal experiences as an immigrant artist.
Of Spirits Intertwined explores cultural connections with classical Indian and Japanese dance. Charya Burt collaborated with Vishnu Tattva Das, and Melody Takata.

Pka Lolab Khiev is a new creation inspired by the character of Laura from the Tennessee Williams’ play, The Glass Menagerie. Charya's Blue Roses explores the life of a Khmer princess who lives in her own imaginary world. To mask her unhappiness, she surrounds herself with things that are familiar. When she tries to break out of her safe world to experience a new life, she becomes frightened by the unknown. It is only when she allows herself to break free that she realizes the promise of her new world. Despite the excitement about her new life, the princess chooses to retreat back to her safe, familiar world.
