Pka Lolab Khiev is a new creation inspired by the character of Laura from the Tennessee Williams’ play, The Glass Menagerie. Charya's Blue Roses explores the life of a Khmer princess who lives in her own imaginary world. To mask her unhappiness, she surrounds herself with things that are familiar. When she tries to break out of her safe world to experience a new life, she becomes frightened by the unknown. It is only when she allows herself to break free that she realizes the promise of her new world. Despite the excitement about her new life, the princess chooses to retreat back to her safe, familiar world.
